Rehabbed windows, will they last?


Quiz: Your car's tires lasted 50,000km. You replace them with the identical brand and model. How long will the replacement tires last?

"Ah, but something else may go wrong with my car." That's true. But in the case of window rehab, Fenestra is replacing all of the wearable parts; all of the weatherstripping and all of wearable hardware.

If you want, we can even replace all of the sealed glass.

Rehabbed windows will function like new windows. (They won't look like new windows. If that's what you want -'just pay the man' and buy new windows.)




Same components, same results


Fenestra replaces weatherstripping and hardware with the same components (and in the case of 3D printing, the same polymers) manufacturers use in new windows.

So it shouldn't be surprising then that, not only can rehabbed windows exceed Code requirements, but also they can do so for many years.


Three examples:

Independent air-leakage testing was completed before rehabilitation, immediately after the work, and again approximately 10 years later. The rehabilitated windows continued to perform beyond the former A2 air-tightness requirement.

Before repair: 4.02 m³/h/m = FAILED

After rehab: 1.21 m³/h/m = BEYOND CODE

10 years later: 1.60 m³/h/m = STILL BEYOND CODE

5150 MacDonald

Independent testing at ΔP = 75 Pa. Former A2 air-leakage criterion: < 1.65 m³/h/m.

After rehab: 1.27 m³/h/m = BEYOND CODE

10 years later: 1.38 m³/h/m = STILL BEYOND CODE
